Job Information/Description:

The UNMC Epidemiology Department seeks outstanding candidates for a post-doctoral fellowship position in cancer epidemiology. The Department works closely with Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with faculty on several extramurally funded projects on cancer epidemiology, prevention, and control. We seek applications from exceptional individuals with training and strong analytic skills in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, and other related areas with proficiency in SAS, R, Stata, or other statistical programming language/software. Specific projects include a rural cancer survivors’ cohort, a pediatric cancer survivors cohort, and working with population-based surveillance data such as SEER. Positions are for one year with the possibility of renewal for multiple years.



Additional Information:

The position is designed to prepare individuals for independent academic research careers in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and survivorship. The Individual selected for this position will have opportunities to lead and/or co-author manuscript publications and share project investigator role(s) commensurate with their experience and effort. The trainee will work with established investigators and be expected to develop research proposals, produce two to three publications annually, and work with a multidisciplinary team.
