The Opportunity
The Executive Vice President of Clinical Affairs / Physician-in-Chief is responsible for the oversight of organization-wide clinical quality, medical standards of care, and the coordination of medical practice standards for Moffitt Cancer Center. The EVP/PIC functions as a key member of the executive leadership team and works across the expanse of the cancer center to provide clinical, operational, and financial leadership while also advancing clinical academic research excellence. This position also serves as the clinical leader for Moffitt Medical Group and works collaboratively with other executives and clinical leaders across the organization to enhance patient care.
The Ideal Candidate
The candidate should be an outstanding and nationally recognized academic physician with a substantial track record of successful clinical, operational, financial, quality and leadership experience in a complex health system or academic medical center, including inpatient and ambulatory environments. This visionary leader should have knowledge of the market forces impacting cancer healthcare delivery and key issues related to quality and patient safety, along with demonstrated success in building a distinguished record of research.
The Organization
Moffitt Cancer Center is Florida’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a member of NCCN. Currently, Moffitt has two hospitals, multiple outpatient locations, research facilities, key medical partnerships, a foundation, a physician practice group, and two for-profit subsidiaries – a technology commercialization corporation and biotech research foundation. Additional growth is on the visible horizon. As evidenced by numerous awards, Moffitt promotes a commitment to excellence and a culture of inclusivity. Moffitt Cancer Center enjoys an affiliation with USF Health/Morsani School of Medicine at the University of South Florida.
The Moffitt Medical Group is Florida’s largest multi-disciplinary medical group practice that is dedicated to cancer care. The MMG, based at Moffitt, also provides services at other hospitals and clinics throughout the state of Florida and beyond. The MMG consists of more than 300 board certified oncology specialists and more than 300 advanced practice professionals, as well as other staff who specialize in nearly 30 cancer programs and services.
