Abstract Body:
Background: COVID-19 has strained population breast mammography screening programs that aim to diagnose and treat breast cancers earlier. Previous work (Figueroa et al. Prev Med 2021) on modelled evaluations and a focus on tumor staging and mortality as outcomes, suggested scenarios are likely to differ by region and organization of delivery of breast cancer screening. As the pandemic has affected countries differently, here, we aimed to quantify changes in breast screening volume and uptake during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Medline, the WHO (World Health Organization) COVID-19 database, and governmental databases were searched systematically using MeSH subject headers and free text terms for "COVID-19
