The Student Transformative Experiences to Progress Under-represented Professionals (STEP-UP) Summer Research Program is a experiential training program that aims at training a diverse cancer workforce that will be ready to meet the challenge of reducing the cancer burden. Training will be conducted throughout campus including the University of Arizona Cancer Center, The Collaboratory for Metabolic Disease Prevention and Treatment, and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

During the paid, 12-week program, trainees will complete a research immersion with a faculty member or community partner, learn qualitative and quantitative research method skills, train in literature reviews and journal clubs, and interact with the community through various outreach and engagement activities.

Program dates: May 16 – August 5, 2022.
