Job Information/Description:

We are seeking a motivated Postdoc or Research Scientist who is interested in advancing his or her career in a vibrant and highly collaborative environment to join our interdisciplinary team at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. I am the Executive Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Huntsman Cancer Institute and have research projects available in:
• Cancer epidemiology, prognosis, biomarker research, and survivorship of colorectal cancer
• Energy balance and adipose tissue in cancer progression
Our research includes transdisciplinary approaches to colorectal cancer prognosis, utilizing health behavior information, measures of energy balance, as well as metabolomics or metagenomics. The position will involve participation in international consortia, statistical analyses, leadership on multiple publications, project management, and active participation in grant applications. There is potential for promotion to Research Assistant Professor and perspectives for tenured faculty positions.
We are looking for a Postdoc/Research Scientist with the following profile:
• A doctoral degree that qualifies you to work in cancer epidemiology. For example a degree in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, genetics, nutritional sciences, pharmacology or medicine.
• Excellent writing and communication skills and a solid publication record
• Good knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics
• Highly motivated and organized
• Excellent team player and someone who enjoys working with scientists of diverse backgrounds

HCI’s excellent biostatistics and research design, genomics resources, and biospecimen repository, as well as a strong research informatics core, enable outstanding research in cancer epidemiology.
