The Department of Population Health (DPH) at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine invites applications for open-rank tenure-track positions, commensurate with experience, with portfolios of research in one or more of the following areas:
-Outcomes research on cardiometabolic disease, cancer, aging, women’s health, mental health, or infectious diseases
-Innovative integration of causal inference and artificial intelligence methods
-Influence of social determinants of health on biological health processes and outcomes
-Healthcare policy research
-Health services research, including expertise in clinical implementation science
Successful candidates will have a doctoral degree in relevant population sciences fields such as epidemiology, biostatistics, econometrics, comparative effectiveness science, health care services research, implementation science, data science, systems science, clinical informatics, OR a medical degree with advanced training in at least one of fields listed above.
Successful applicants will join a vibrant department engaged in highly rigorous research with a strong and sustained focus on translation and health equity–locally, nationally and internationally. Interdisciplinary collaboration with clinical departments, basic science departments, public agencies and community partners is a hallmark of our work. NYU Grossman School of Medicine is one of the most dynamic and highly ranked academic medical centers in the nation. Faculty in the Department of Population Health lead, co-lead, or substantively contribute to a strong portfolio of interdisciplinary and translational large collaborative grants. To advance its mission of health equity, the institution was the first in the nation to make medical school free, and an Institute for Excellence in Health Equity was launched in 2020 to improve health equity across research, education, clinical care and community.
Candidates should hold a PhD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree and be able to demonstrate scholarship through teaching, publications, and extramurally-funded research. The successful candidate must demonstrate interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse population of multi-disciplinary researchers, faculty, staff, and community partners. Strong desire and commitment to research, mentoring, teaching and practice in areas including but not limited to health equity, multi-sector collaborations, health disparities, social determinants of health, and related topics. Faculty are expected to teach one course per year.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a junior faculty role is $120,000 to $141,652. Candidates who qualify for higher rank faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply.
Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
