Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Population Science
Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center
The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in any area of cancer prevention and control research.
The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated cancer center in the nation’s capital, serves a diverse patient population through its large regional network of academic and community medical centers. The Cancer Prevention and Control Program includes 25 cancer control scientists engaged in a wide range of NIH-funded clinical, epidemiologic, behavioral, and health services research in cancer. This includes active research groups focused on cancer survivorship, cancer disparities, cancer prevention, tobacco control, translational genomics, cancer simulation modeling, cancer and aging, cancer screening and biomarkers of cancer risk. In addition, the Cancer Center has a full range of shared resources available to faculty and active graduate programs in epidemiology, biostatistics, and tumor biology.
The Cancer Center’s position within Georgetown University provides numerous opportunities for collaboration with faculty in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Health Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, Law Center, and the McCourt School of Public Policy. Our location in Washington, DC provides unique access to collaborative opportunities with NIH and FDA faculty, policy makers on Capitol Hill, and faculty at numerous local universities. This position also provides tremendous opportunities in clinical, community-based and health services research in collaboration with our research partners at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack Meridian Health. Combined, these research partners have access to the largest clinical network in the mid-Atlantic region.
The candidate will be expected to maintain an innovative, independent, collaborative and extramurally-funded research program. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in any population science discipline with a demonstrated academic track record of publications and currently active peer-reviewed funding. The faculty rank for this position is open and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. We encourage applications from candidates who are interested in a leadership role within the cancer center. The position includes a competitive salary, generous start-up package and relocation expenses.
