Assistant Professor Position (Tenure-Track) at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Health Equity, Community-Engaged Research and Cancer Disease Prevention and Control
We are seeking fellowship-trained faculty who are clinician (MD, DDS, DO) health services researchers interested in conducting trans-disciplinary, translational research addressing cancer prevention and control among diverse populations. New faculty would join and be mentored by a unique collaboration of clinicians and internationally-renowned faculty in community-based, disparities, comparative effectiveness and mixed methods research, clinical trials, epidemiology, biostatistics, genomics, informatics, digital media and technology. Together, we aim to conduct innovative research to understand and address the multiple determinants that impact racial, ethnic, geographic and socioeconomic disparities in cancer risk, incidence, care and outcomes.
The individual(s) would be expected to maintain a strong focus on collaborative research and would have an opportunity to both become an integral part of several federally funded research projects and centers, and pursue investigator-initiated research. Faculty will be sponsored by the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program (ECRIP) of New York State Department of Health, the Center for Health Equity and Community-Engaged Research and the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Faculty will also have patient care and clinical teaching opportunities through the Mount Sinai’s clinical departments.
Eligible applicants are clinicians who have completed a clinical residency in the U.S. or Canada, and have completed or are concurrently completing relevant research training and have an academic rank of Fellow, Instructor or Assistant Professor. Candidates from groups underrepresented in medicine or research are encouraged to apply. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2020.
