Job Information/Description:

H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking an enthusiastic mid-level or later career researcher with a focus on population science to lead the cancer epidemiology research program along with Dr. Peter Kanetsky. At Moffitt, program leaders (along with department chairs) have a seat at the leadership table and participate in the strategic planning and evaluation activities across the institution and provide scientific vision and inspiration to its members. Since 2011, the Cancer Epidemiology Program has received an Exceptional rating at renewals of Moffitt’s support grant. The program’s impact has contributed to Moffitt’s mission “to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer” through the pursuit of impactful science.

The Cancer Epidemiology Program is home to 26 full-time faculty engaged in innovative research to reduce the cancer burden through better knowledge of exposures, their biological markers, and underlying mechanisms. Program Members conduct research spanning from cancer prevention to interception and early detection, as well as cancer outcomes covering primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention with an eye toward translation of research findings. Areas of strategic research growth in population science at Moffitt include metabolomics, cancer care delivery, data science, and immuno-epidemiology.

Local Resources Include:
 Clinical and scientific expertise across a spectrum of oncology-related disciplines
 A large health data warehouse of clinical and outcome information on over 600,000 patients
 An institutional biobank with over 130,000 consented patients

Successful Candidates Must Have:
 PhD or MD and an active research program relevant to cancer prevention or control.
 Either a formal background in epidemiology or training in another health science or quantitative science discipline with a research program that aligns with the aims of the Cancer Epidemiology Program.
 Strong history of peer-reviewed funding and publication that exemplifies collaborative and multidisciplinary research.
 Administrative experience, mentoring skills, and a demonstrated trajectory of leadership growth.

This position is tenure-earning at the Associate or Senior Member level. Moffitt is affiliated with University of South Florida and a University appointment is encouraged. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, and generous start-up packages.
