Job Information/Description:

The doctoral level candidate will join the implementation research team at MedStar Health Research Institute and will report to Hannah Arem, PhD within the Healthcare Delivery Research Program. There is also potential for a faculty appointment at Georgetown University.

The implementation research portfolio currently includes projects such as social risk factor screening implementation for cancer survivors across Washington, DC, reducing maternal and infant health disparities in Washington, DC, improving delivery of PrEP for cisgender high risk women in the southern US, and measuring the impact of monitoring of comorbidities among breast and prostate cancer patients through community health worker support. An interest in research on reducing health disparities and mHealth is also in line with this work. Through this position there would be opportunities to contribute to existing projects and to submit grant applications for investigator-initiated research across a range of funding agencies.

The individual would have the opportunity to work both within the healthcare system (10 hospitals (6 of which have cancer centers including Georgetown’s Comprehensive Cancer Center), 30,000 providers, specialty and primary outpatient care) and also having options to work in primary data collection, grants, publishing, and traditional academic settings.
