Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Behavioral Sciences division of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Program Coordinator plans and coordinates the conduct of highly specialized and technical research for the behavioral sciences research group.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Participates in all aspects of research and ensures compliance with study protocols. Monitors progress of projects. Reports to the Principal Investigator on project progress, problems, and the need for adjustments.
Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary study team. Develops work plans, coordinates activities, and communicates to members of the study team regarding study activities. Serves as liaison to other departments, facilities, organizations, and companies. Schedules, attends and leads (as assigned) and takes minutes from meetings.
Under supervision of the principal investigator, assists in the conducting of continuous program of research and development regarding the analytical and instrumentation functions of the laboratory, participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revision where necessary and proposing new procedures where required. As requested, assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the department.
Conducts focus groups and interviews as needed. Conducts acceptability and usability testing of measures and interventions.
Assists with development and administration of assessments. Assists with designing, developing, disseminating, and implementing behavioral interventions.
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or related field (e.g. Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health Education, or Nursing) with three (3) years of experience in administrative, research or related health industry experience.
Prior research experience necessary.
Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Demonstrated detail orientation and flexibility; strong organizational, communication, problem solving, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to hold self-accountable to high standards of professional excellence, demonstrated to be resourceful, seeks and accepts personal and professional responsibility on a continual basis.
Effective oral and communication skills.
Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
