POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION

The Division of Population Studies and Disparities Research Program at the Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Communication and Behavioral Oncology Program. The fellowship will prepare the trainee for a career in academic research. The trainee will play a key role in ongoing, federally-funded programs of behavioral oncology research with the expectation of further developing skills in grant writing, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and manuscript preparation. The focus of this fellowship is a new and novel line of research examining the quality of clinical communication and health outcomes in a racially diverse population of people with cancer. Fellows will interact and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of investigators including psychologists, communication scientists, physicians, and epidemiologists.  Eligible candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and have recently completed a research-oriented doctoral training program (PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent) in the behavioral, social, or public health sciences. The fellowship includes a competitive salary with benefits. Support may also be provided for conference travel and other training experiences.
