Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cancer Survivorship
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey’s Center of Excellence in Cancer Survivorship is seeking a full time post-doctoral fellow with a strong interest in cancer survivorship. This is a unique fellowship opportunity that integrates training in research, intervention to enhance medical and psychosocial outcomes (e.g., symptom management, care transitions, and distress), oncology care delivery, and implementation science among cancer survivors. The Center of Excellence in Cancer Survivorship provides a unique opportunity for scientists working in psychology, cancer prevention, oncology, big data, and implementation science as the work spans the state of New Jersey. The overarching goal of the center is to develop, evaluate, and implement effective methods of improving psychosocial outcomes and mitigate long-term adverse outcomes among survivors. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in overseeing the psychological and care delivery components in a multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, epidemiologists, health care delivery researchers, biostatisticians, and oncologists. The successful candidate will have a strong record of publications, experience in behavioral interventions and data management, and experience with quantitative research methods. The primary objective of this fellowship is to prepare the individual for an academically oriented career in fields relevant to health psychology and cancer survivorship. Minority applicants encouraged. Fellows participate in professional development seminars, weekly mentorship meetings, and one to two hours of individual supervision per week. Fellows will also have the opportunity to engage in clinical service for cancer survivors. Start date is flexible and applications will be reviewed as received so interested candidates should apply as soon as possible regardless of their preferred start date. Appointments are for one year, renewable to two, pending budgetary approval. Salary is competitive.
