The Cancer Prevention and Control Program of the Georgetown University Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking population science investigators to join and/or co-lead research activities at our cancer research consortium campus in Bergen County, NJ at the John Theurer Cancer Center of Hackensack Meridian Health. We are seeking candidates with proven track records of research and currently active extramural support. Successful candidates will have demonstrated multidisciplinary collaborations and excellent interpersonal communication. We are pursuing scientists across the cancer control continuum: from translational biomarker discovery to cancer epidemiology, to interventions and outcomes, and symptom management and survivorship. Cross-cutting areas of expertise are especially welcomed, including genetics/genomics, minority health and cancer disparities, implementation science, and policy modeling research. Our consortium is home to cutting-edge opportunities in several high profile areas, including hematologic malignancies, stem cell transplant, liver and breast cancers, HPV vaccine, energy balance, nicotine addiction, cancer health services and underrepresented populations. Research in our catchment area is facilitated through community-based research sites, including the office of health disparities (DC) and center for cancer disparities (NJ).
Applicants are expected to hold a doctoral degree in any population science discipline, conduct cancer prevention and control research, and hold current peer-reviewed support. Academic appointments for consortium faculty are available on the Biomedical Scholar track at the Georgetown University School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience. To be considered for program co-leadership, applicants are additionally expected to have leadership experience at another research-intensive institution in a similar or equivalent departmental, divisional, or scientific program role.
