Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice (TDI) (https://tdi.dartmouth.edu) within the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, in collaboration with the Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC), seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join our collegial and collaborative scientific community studying cancer control across the spectrum. Exceptional candidates at senior ranks may be considered. The ideal candidate will use contemporary approaches to address fundamental questions related to cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and establish a robust research program focused on cancer population sciences that will attract extramural funding; provide research training for graduate students; and teach at different levels.  Candidates should hold a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and have relevant research experience.

The Dartmouth Institute – a national leader in the study of medical care and its improvement for over three decades – has more than 50 faculty members conducting research in a range of clinical and social science disciplines. Signature programs include: research using population-based administrative health care databases, comparative effectiveness research, community-based implementation research, and shared decision-making.

As a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, NCCC serves the populations of New Hampshire and Vermont.  The successful candidate will join the more than 40 faculty members in the Cancer Population Sciences Program in NCCC.

Faculty members in TDI are members of the PhD graduate program in Health Policy and Clinical Practice (https://tdi.dartmouth.edu/education/degree-programs/phd/health-policy-phd ) and may also participate in TDI’s Masters in Public Health (https://tdi.dartmouth.edu/education/degree-programs/masters-in-public-health) and Masters in Health Care Delivery Science (https://mhcds.dartmouth.edu/).  Depending on areas of expertise, successful candidates may also join other PhD and MS programs at Dartmouth,  such as the Program in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences (https://geiselmed.dartmouth.edu/qbs/) and the Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (https://graduate.dartmouth.edu/mcb/), which was recently approved to expand to include a new Program in Cancer Biology.
