Job Information/Description:

The Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University, an NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center serving the state of Oregon, is seeking outstanding independent investigators committed to addressing the most challenging cancer prevention and control problems in populations with or at risk of cancer and across the translational continuum. These tenure-track faculty positions will be in the Cancer Population Science section of the newly formed Division of Oncological Science (DOS), an academic home for cross-disciplinary cancer research that leverages team science and collaboration (https://www.ohsu.edu/oncological-sciences).

The Knight Cancer Institute is a pioneer in personalized cancer medicine and an international leader in research and cancer treatment. Cancer Population Science (CPS) includes researchers interested in studying genetics, behaviors, and exposures at a population level that increase the risk of developing cancer and conduct cancer prevention and control intervention studies with individuals, communities, healthcare systems, and populations. CPS researchers collaborate with basic, clinical, and population health researchers. Co-location with other sections in DOS fosters dynamic collaborations. At the same time, shared resources across the Knight, CTSA, and OHSU provide abundant access to state-of-the-art tools, approaches, and cohorts for innovative science. We are particularly interested in adding faculty with expertise in epidemiology, genetics, behavioral science, implementation science, and community-engaged research. Exciting research areas rich for collaboration include cancer and aging, cancer and the microbiome, cancer symptom science, digital technology, and eHealth. Research experience with underserved populations, particularly Hispanic/Latino or American Indian/Alaska Native, is desirable. Previous experience and/or leadership within an NCI designated cancer center is also desired.

The Knight envisions a world freed from the burden of cancer by working together to make bold advances in understanding cancer biology, detection, treatment, and survival. Join the Knight Cancer Institute and work with us to end cancer as we know it. We offer highly competitive recruitment packages, strong institutional commitment to faculty support, comprehensive benefits, relocation services, and rewarding work and life environment.
