Unilever Chair for the Study of Diet and Nutrition in the Prevention of Chronic Disease

Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a cancer prevention researcher to serve as the Unilever Endowed Chair for the Study of Diet and Nutrition for the Prevention of Chronic Disease. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program on the nutritional aspects of in cancer prevention to better understand the role of diet components in preventing or delaying the progression of chronic diseases coupled with modifying dietary and other lifestyle behaviors offer an unprecedented opportunity to reduce chronic disease and improve quality of life.

The successful candidate will have a sustained record of peer reviewed funding and national recognition in the field of diet and nutrition. He/She should be motivated to contribute to a vibrant and collaborative environment of scholars from the basic, clinical and populations sciences; and interest and experience in mentoring students and/or junior faculty. The selected individual will also be inspired to capitalize on opportunities for collaborations within Rutgers schools/institutes across campus, Princeton University, Rutgers RWJBarnabas Health System, and a wide array of community organizations throughout the state of New Jersey. The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey has exceptional research resources including the New Jersey State Cancer Registry, ORIEN (Oncology Research Information Exchange Network), and shared resources including: 1) Biostatistics, 2) Population Research Support, 3) Immune Monitoring and Advanced Genetics; 4) Biomedical Informatics; 5) Biospecimen Repository and Histopathology Service; and 6) Metabolomics.

PhD or equivalent is required. Faculty are expected to support the educational goals and activities of the School, and as such will be expected to be involved in teaching activities for medical students and residents as well as targeted lectures in their area of expertise.
