Closing Date: 04/30/2021

Job Information/Description:

The Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) (www.hmh-cdi.org) was established less than 2 years ago by Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH), which is the largest healthcare system in New Jersey. It is located adjacent to the new HMH School of Medicine on the former Roche campus in Nutley, NJ. The CDI is an academic basic/translational research enterprise to compliment and support the John Theurer Cancer Center (JTCC), as part of a newly NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center Consortium with the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). In coordination with the large Cancer Prevention and Control Program (CPC) at the LCCC, the CDI and JTCC are seeking a senior investigator to become the Director of our CPC Program at HMH to build upon and expand the research effort. The JTCC has one of the largest Oncology services in the country with a large catchment area and extensive community engagement providing for unique research opportunities.

This position provides unique scientific and leadership opportunities to develop population science research within the context of an established consortium. The consortium provides tremendous resources that include a large and diverse clinical population, full access to a wide range of shared resources across both institutions, strong collaborative opportunities with the highly-rated CCSG-funded CPC research program at the Georgetown LCCC, and institutional commitment to develop an outstanding CPC research Program.

The individual filling this position will have a demonstrated academic track record in any area of cancer prevention and control research. Candidates are sought with experience and training in cancer prevention or control disciplines (e.g., behavioral science, health services research and policy, epidemiology, cancer risk factors and biomarkers). Applicants are required to have a track record of peer-reviewed funding and publications relevant to cancer, and to currently hold R01-level cancer-focused research funding.

The appropriate candidate will receive a generous start up package and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. To apply, please send a summary of research accomplishments, a statement of future research interests and goals, and the curriculum vitae to Robert Korngold, Ph.D., Deputy Director, CDI ([email protected]).

We are an equal opportunity employer.
