2020 Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program
The Henry Ford Cancer Institute (HFCI) invites applications for postdoctoral fellows to start in January 2020.
Early-career scientists will have the opportunity to share in Henry Ford Hospital’s research mission to be a NCI-designation worthy cancer center with robust clinical, basic and population science research programs that translate findings into state-of-the-art clinical care for our cancer patients.
HFCI Postdoctoral Fellows work on 1- to 2-year assignment under the leadership of HFH physicians and scientists at HFCI research programs in cancers such as brain, breast, colon, head & neck, lung, ovarian, pancreas, prostate, and skin (melanoma) in research areas that include Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention and Control (CEPC) and Translational Oncology (TO) including Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology. In addition to clinicians and clinical scientists developing cutting edge surgical techniques and cancer treatment regimens for a large diverse patient population, world-class research faculty including biostatisticians, cancer scientists (biologists, chemists and physicists), epidemiologists, geneticists, and pathologists are active in advancing cancer research.
We seek talented and motivated candidates who wish to play a leading role on projects focused on cancer research. The position offers opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaborations and professional development including preparation of scientific manuscripts, presentation at scientific conferences and involvement in research grant proposal writing.
Candidates must hold a MD and/or PhD and have strong analytic skills with experience in cancer research. Communication skills with experience in research design and scientific writing are required. Their goal should be to become an independent scientist.
Stipend support is at the current NIH level.
