The brandy bowl features a family crest on the bottom with the initials AM and the year 1763. It was probably given on the occasion of a wedding or birth. The brandy bowl bears two Dutch re hallmarks: ZII for second grade silver and the tax mark V. No old hallmarks were found on the bowl. Not everything was hallmarked at that time to avoid taxes.
