George W. Allen, who came to Milwaukee in 1851. Sometime later, Allen set up the Wisconsin Leather Company. Allen was educated in law, as well as the leather and tanning industry. He was a conservative, who had an active interest in national legislation regarding taxes, tariffs and finances. Allen was also a member of the Milwaukee Association of Commerce. CONDITION This
