This is an original 1893 halftone print of the statue honoring the victory of Columbus which stood on the arch pylon of the Peristyle at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and was the work of Daniel C. French and E. C. Potter. (The word "Quadriga" originally meant "a yoke of four" drawing a battle car.) Made of staff, this sculpture unfortunately burned on the night of Jan. 8, 1894.
