Walt Whitman, famous poet and author of "Leaves of Grass," is remembered for his poetry and for his love of Abraham Lincoln. The caption writes, "Whitman at the age of sixty five became the delighted possessor of a two story 'shanty' of his own. George W. Childs, the Philadelphia philanthropist, lent him the money, which he repaid little by little.
